The LEDI - Scout is a portable and easy to use water maker designed for small yachts. We have designed the Scout to be easy to use, reliable and simple to maintain. With everything included to start making water immediately, the Scout is a perfect entry into the world of Water-Makers.

10L of Drinking Water per Hour

Capable of producing over 200 Litres per day. The scout includes continuous duty rated pumps that can keep going all day.

Portable and Easy

In its 18kg 55cm aluminium frame package the Scout includes all the components of a larger Water maker installation. Including boost pump, high pressure pump, pre-filters and UV steriliser.

Save Time, Fuel and Stress

At 250W and 12V the Scout is perfectly capable of being powered using you solar + battery setup. Can be customised to 24V if required.

No Installation Required

The self contained unit can be installed or stowed. If you don't want to permanently install it, you can simply throw the suction line over the side and start making water.

How it Works

Step 1. Pre-Filtration

Water passes through a sediment pre-filter. This removes any particles that damage internal components.

Step 2. Reverse Osmosis

Seawater is pressurised and pushed through a reverse osmosis membrane. This removes salt particles and bacteria.

Step 3. UV Sterilisation

Clean water passes through an LED ultraviolet steriliser which kills any remaining bacteria or viruses.

Maintenance

Flush the system for a few minutes after each use. Clean the pre-filter by hand as needed. Use the supplied cleaning solution to maintain performance. Membranes will eventually need replacing, but the process takes less than 15 minutes — tools provided, no expertise required.

Preservation

Not using your Scout for 2–4 weeks or more? Make the preservation solution with the included chemicals and run it through the system. This will preserve your system when it's not being regularly used and extends the membrane life.

Frequently asked questions

How Do I Install My Scout?

No modification to your boat required. Simply carry onboard, plug in the hoses (3 x 3m hoses included, connections are push-fit so no tools required) and connect power (2m cable with a standard Anderson plug). Put two hoses in the ocean (intake water and waste water out) and produce clean water!

Is the LEDI - Scout Compatible With My Power Set Up?

We've designed the LEDI - Scout to run on low power. It needs 12V or 24V and will use about 250W. Uses a standard Anderson plug.

How Much Maintenance Will My LEDI - Scout Need?

Depending on usage you'll probably need to service your LEDI - Scout annually. This includes changing the pre-filter and internal membrane. We've included the tools you need to do this and it should take you less than half an hour overall. You should flush your Scout for a few minutes at the end of each use.

What about spare parts?

LEDI can supply all spare parts available. Just keep an eye on our store. Alternatively, you can order generic pre-filters and membranes, just ensure they meet the specs outlined in the user manual.

Contact us to see what we are working on. As a manufacturer of disaster relief desalination systems we can produce units all the way to 1000 Litres per hour. If you need a higher flow rate, we may already have an option.

Can you provide Cleaning, Descaling and Preservation Chemicals

Yes, contact us for quotes and timeframes. If you want to stock up with your initial SCOUT order let us know. 

Can I use this for camping and 4WD?

The scout is absolutely suitable for camping and 4WD. Contact us to find out more about our Ultra Filtration pre-filter if you want even more piece of mind.
